El pasado 20 de noviembre terminamos el Curso de Habilidades Básicas en el cual asistí como mentor, pero como de costumbre todos los problemas técnicos con las computadoras me llegaron a mi.

El curso incluía gramática, lectura, escritura en inglés y computación básica.

Los estudiantes se están preparando para traducir la Biblia a sus propios idiomas y el ingles es muy importante para usar varias versiones de la Biblia como base para traducir. La computación es importante ya que para traducir se usa un programa que se llama Paratext y toda la información se mantiene en la computadora, así que es bueno que aprendan a usarla y digitar rápido.

Para algunos fue muy dificil tanto el ingles como la computación pero estamos contentos que en seis semanas todos aprendieron y mejoraron un poco mas de como estaban antes.

Last November 20, we finished the Initial Skills Course, where I attended as mentor, but as always I end up doing computer troubleshooting and fixing.

The course included grammar, reading, writing in English and basic computer.

The students are getting ready to translate the Bible to their own languages and English is very important so they can use several versions of that Bible as a base for the translation. Computer skills are important because they need to use a program called Paratext to type the Bible so it is good that they know how to use it and they can type faster.

For some of them the course was difficult, the English and the use of the computer, but we are happy because in six weeks all they learn more and improve their knowledge.
