Hace algunas semanas también tuvimos en nuestra casa a dos hombres del idiom a Migabac que estan traduciendo la Biblia a su propio idioma. Ellos estaban muy felices de recibir semillitas de la Palabra de Dios con esos diseños tan bonitos.

Los misioneros que están trabajando en esa traducción acaban de ir a la aldea y esto es lo que nos dijeron:

“Cuando llegamos a la aldea le pregunté a una señora sobre las tarjetas. Los dos hombres que habían estado en su casa trajeron algunas con ellos (y nosotros trajimos el resto en setiembre). Ella dijo que le gustaron mucho. Una de las tarjetas tenía un versículo que tuvo mucho significado para ella y le habló cuando lo leyó por primera vez en su idioma. Ademas dijo que varios padres han comprado esas tarjetas para que sus hijos aprendan a leer. Los chicos las leen en las noches y las cargan todo el tiempo. Entonces su hija adolescente sacó una tarjeta de su bilum (bolso tradicional) para mostrármela. La semana pasada, en un evento de la iglesia, también vimos a una señora leyendo una de las tarjetas. Han sido muy bien recibidas.”

A few weeks ago we also had two men in our home from the Migabac language group who are translating the Bible into their own language. They were so happy to receive cards with Bible verses on them with beautiful Pechi designs.

The missionaries that are working on the translation of the Migabac language just went to the village and this is what they said:

“When we got to the village, I asked a lady about them.  The two men who had come to to your house brought some back with them (and we brought the rest with us in September).  She said they really like them.  One of the cards had a verse that was very meaningful to her and had spoken to her when she had first read it in her language.  She also said that parents have bought these cards for their kids that know how to read.  The kids take them out and read them at night and carry them around with them.  Her teenager daughter proceeded to pull the card out of her bilum (a traditional bag) to show me.  Last weekend, at a church event, we saw another lady reading one of the cards.  They have been very well received.”
